Chvrches (pronounced as "churches" and sometimes stylized as CHVRCHES) are a Scottish alternative electronic band from Glasgow, formed in 2011. The group consists of Lauren Mayberry (main vocals, occasionally synthesizers), Iain Cook (synthesizers, vocals), and Martin Doherty (synthesizers, vocals).[1] <br />Chvrches featured on BBC Sound of 2013 long list.[2] They have come fifth in the BBC's Sound of 2013 new music list
