Calm restored after a deadly attack on a police station in north western Pakistan.<br/> <br />At least six militants - five of them suicide bombers - were killed and a member of the security forces wounded when attackers stormed the police station.<br/> <br />The police chief said there was a fierce exchange of gunfire and the assailants also used hand grenades.<br/> <br />Five suicide bombers were shot dead during the counter attack by police, paramilitary, and the army.<br/> <br />A sixth body was also found in the area.<br/> <br />Local media reported that the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.<br/> <br />Since 2009 the Pakistani military and pro government militias have regained territory from the Taliban, who once controlled land a few hours drive from the capital.
