Almost six years since its inception, the UN African Mission in Darfur, UNAMID, has grown in both size and experience.<br /><br />Despite continued violence in the region, the forces have already started to reduce in numbers based on need.<br /><br />Still, clashes amongs tribal groups over resources have proven a challenge to the UNAMID's core mandate of protecting civilians.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Mohammed Vall reports from Darfur, where he has gone on patrol with the forces.
