Patience despite 'incredibly slow' process in Kenya polls

Al Jazeera's Peter Greste, reporting from a polling station in Kisumu, says despite an "incredibly slow" ballot process, voters in Kenya's third-largest city are showing an "enormous amount" of patience as they wait up to eight hours to vote.
Our correspondent says one reason the wait time can be so long is that this election is "the most complicated in Kenya's history" with voters casting their first-ever ballots for women's representatives and governors.

In response to reports of violence in the coastal city of Mombasa, Al Jazeera's Greste cautions that the situation in the city, which has been home to a separatist movement, cannot be extrapolated for the rest of Kenya.

There is "a very volatile situation on the coast. Mombasa is a very, very specific situation".
