(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />Over 2,000 delegates from across China gathered on Tuesday (March 5) in the Great Hall of the People for the opening of this year's National People's Congress (NPC) parliament session.<br/> <br />Security was high in and around Tiananmen Square as it geared up for Congress which will see Xi Jinping take the reins from outgoing President Hu Jintao.<br/> <br />The various delegates included CEOs, generals, political leaders and Tibetan monks, as well as some of China's richest businessmen.<br/> <br />China, facing a potential slowdown of growth, said on Monday (March 4) it would boost fiscal spending in 2013 in a bid to deliver economic growth of 7.5 percent for the year.
