A New York City man with a lengthy criminal record surrendered to police on Wednesday, ending a manhunt for the driver who fled the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash.<br/> <br />The 44-year-old Brooklyn man earlier killed a young couple; their unborn child was later delivered by C-section, but then also died.<br/> <br />The victims were both 21-year-old from a close-knit Orthodox Jewish community in Williamsburg.<br/> <br />They were on their way to the hospital when their taxi was hit broadside by a grey BMW sedan just after midnight on Sunday.<br/> <br />The New York Daily News reported that the suspect said he fled the scene of the accident because he was afraid of being shot.
