The Pentagon confirms that five U.S. military personnel were killed in a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan Monday.<br/> <br />Helicopter crashes are not uncommon in Afghanistan and the Taliban and others often claim to have shot them down.<br/> <br />Brigadier General Gunter Katz of ISAF says an investigation is underway.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) SPOKESMAN FOR INTERNATIONAL SECURITY ASSISTANCE FORCE (ISAF), BRIGADIER GENERAL GUNTER KATZ, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Early reporting indicates that the crash is not related to any enemy activities."<br/> <br />U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel left Afghanistan earlier on Monday. His visit was marred by a suicide bomb attack near where he was holding a meeting, and differences with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who accused the United States of colluding with the Taliban.
