The streets of Washington D.C. are awash in the color green as the Nation's capital put on its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.<br/> <br />People of all ages celebrated the day.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) PARADE SPECTATOR, TODD ALLEN, SAYING:<br/> <br />"It's just wonderful coming out and seeing everyone out here just trying to be Irish for a day."<br/> <br />The parade has been held since 1971. Organisers say the parade is a way to celebrate Irish Culture in America.<br/> <br />St. Patrick's Day was also honored at the White House, with its fountain running green.
