Under the alias 'Janaka Selekta', San Francisco-based Janaka had already established a long-standing reputation as music producer and DJ. Meanwhile, Shridevi aka 'ShriiK' -- a Mumbai native -- had been performing with various DJ's and producers, capitalizing on her unique blend of western vocals and Carnatic-influenced melodies.<br /><br />The band name, 'Gods Robots', was inspired by the fact that most of their music was made over the internet in the virtual space. Gods Robots define a brand new sound by seamlessly blending English lyrics with a pop music edge, classical Indian instrumentation and bass heavy underground rhythms.
