The recent popular uprising in Yemen has brought new opportunities for women who have been under-represented for years.<br /><br />Now, months after the protests of the so-called "Arab Spring", the success of Tawakul Karman, the first Arab woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, continues to push Yemeni women to work towards ending centuries of discrimination.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbara reports from Sanaa, where he spoke to several female activists to end the mistreatment of women in Yemen.
