Rescuers worked on Saturday (March 30) to reach 83 workers trapped by a landslide in a mining area of Tibet, China's state-run news agency Xinhua and Chinese state broadcaster, CCTV reported.<br/> <br />The landslide, over an area of about 3 km, struck in Maizhokunggar County on Friday (March 29), Xinhua said.<br/> <br />It buried a camp of workers employed by the Tibet Huatailong Mining Development Co Ltd, Xinhua added.<br/> <br />Footage broadcast by official Chinese television CCTV showed rescuers gathering supplies and using life detection equipment in their search efforts.<br/> <br />Despite the large-scale rescue efforts, CCTV said that the low temperatures in the area have further exacerbated the operation.<br/> <br />There was no immediate word on any deaths or injuries.
