Former South African President Nelson Mandela.<br/> <br />President Jacob Zuma's office says the Nobel Prize laureate continues to respond to treatment in hospital for a recurrence of pneumonia.<br/> <br />On Sunday, supporters in Johannesburg wished the 94-year-old anti-apartheid leader a speedy recovery.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) LOCAL RESIDENT, PETER SMITH, SAYING:<br/> <br />"He is spending a lot of time in hospital but not surprising he is not exactly a youngster anymore, but I mean he's got excellent people looking after him. I am sure he is going to do well."<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) LOCAL RESIDENT, MFUNDO MAFANAEO, SAYING:<br/> <br />"I wish that God can bless us with many Madibas throughout the years."<br/> <br />The Presidency said doctors have drained excess fluid from his lungs to tackle the infection.<br/> <br />Previous bulletins since the former president was taken to hospital on Wednesday have reported him responding well and in good spirits.
