Madonna left her glamorous showbiz life behind in exchange for a brief visit to Malawi, birth country of her two adopted children David and Mercy James.<br/> <br />However the singer's arrival wasn't short of a big entrance - a long convoy of cars accompanying the pop singer as she visited children at the Home for Hope orphanage in Mchinji town on Wednesday (April 3) .<br/> <br />Her visit comes on the same day as the announcement the singer was selling a 7 million dollar painting by French artist Fernand Leger, to raise funds for girls' education projects in Afghanistan, Pakistan and other countries.<br/> <br />Madonna isn't the only star trying to help boost girls' education in the developing world.<br/> <br />Earlier this week actress Angelina Jolie opened a girls' school in Afghanistan and announced plans to fund more by selling a jewellery line.
