A full stop to poultry sales.<br/> <br />Authorities in Shanghai will halt all local sales of poultry beginning Saturday.<br/> <br />It's in response to six deaths in eastern China from a deadly new strain of the bird flu virus.<br/> <br />In Shanghai, where four of the six deaths occurred, poultry markets were already being shut down, the live birds culled and incinerated.<br/> <br />The city's Center for Disease Control reminded residents the new strain of the virus, called H7N9, doesn't transmit from person to person.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) CHIEF OF SHANGHAI MUNICIPAL CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION, WU FAN, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Our lab examination has confirmed that the tests [of one of the 119 close contacts of the H7N9 patients with suspected flu symptoms] all read H7N9 negative.
