A hunger strike to protest against indefinite detentions at the Guantanamo Bay military prison is now into its third month, raising questions about the US government's commitment to shutting it down.<br /><br />Guards clashed with detainees at the weekend after trying to move them out of their communal living blocks and into single-cell rooms.<br /><br />The military says the move is temporary and was done for security and health reasons.<br /><br />A federal judge has said he did not have the authority to rule on conditions of confinement at Guantanamo.<br /><br />The White House downplayed the relocations and once again blamed the situation on politics.<br /><br />As lawmakers continue to squabble, there is no sign of a resolution to the hunger strike.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Rosiland Jordan reports from Washington.
