South Korea calls for end to "vicious cycle" relationship with North

A security drill in South Korea, simulating an attack on a government complex.<br/> <br />The exercise comes amid recent threats of aggression from their North Korean neighbours.<br/> <br />Hostile rhetoric from the North is nothing new, but Seoul on Wednesday said it was time for a different response.<br/> <br />During a meeting with foreign ambassadors, South Korean President Park Geun-hye called for an end to the "vicious cycle" between the two nations.<br/> <br />Park said they must break the cycle of holding negotiations and providing assistance when the North makes threats and provocations.<br/> <br />Last week South Korea proposed dialogue with Pyongyang, but the North called the proposal a "crafty trick".<br/> <br />The North has also rejected a request from South Korean business executives to visit the jointly run industrial park in Kaesong to deliver food to their workers.
