ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Thousands of Chileans from dozens of environmental and social groups took part in a massive Earth Day protest in Santiago on Monday dubbed The March to Recover and Defend Our Water.<br/> <br />The demonstration was held in three points in the capital city and culminated in the central Heroes Plaza on Alameda Avenue.<br/> <br />Demonstrators denounced Chile's 1981 water code which introduced free-market mechanisms into the management of the country's water management system.<br/> <br />More than 100 different social and environmental groups participated in the march, in which indigenous demonstrators danced and held a purification ceremony.
