At least four people died when an earthquake measuring 5.7 hit eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday.<br/> <br />Officials say rain had weakened the traditional mud-brick buildings causing hundreds of homes to collapse.<br/> <br />Scores of the injured are being treated at this hospital in Jalalabad.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Pashto) HEAD OF NANGARHAR REGIONAL HOSPITAL, DOCTOR ZAMAN ZAHIR, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Up to now we have recovered 70 people who have been wounded in the earthquake, 35 of those wounded are from different districts of Nangarhar. We are keeping them here for treatment."<br/> <br />The earthquake was felt as far away as the Indian capital New Delhi, the latest in a string of tremors to shake Asia this month.
