Start adding layers of protection."<br/> <br />The boards are made with some of the lightest body armour in the world and were created in response to a shooting in Newtown, Connecticut last December in which 20 children and six adults were killed.<br/> <br />Inventor George Tunis...<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) GEORGE TUNIS, INVENTOR, HARDWIRE ARMOR SYSTEMS, SAYING:<br/> <br />"We set it up making something that would fit into the school environment... because my kids were scared and their teachers were scared."<br/> <br />The boards weigh just a few pounds and are less than an inch thick.<br/> <br />Police say they are an empowering tool to help teachers protect their students.
