ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: The Inspector General of Police of Pakistan's restive Balochistan Province narrowly escaped a suicide attack on Sunday (May 12) that killed at least six people and wounded 46 others, officials said.<br/> <br />Officials said the IGP had just entered his residence in Quetta when a suicide bomber in a vehicle laden with explosives blew himself up outside the house.<br/> <br />Officials confirmed that at least two policemen, three paramilitary soldiers and one passerby were killed outside the inspector general's residence.<br/> <br />At least 46 others were injured, including children who got cuts from flying splinters of glass.. The IGP was not hurt in the incident.<br/> <br />Bomb disposal squad officials told reporters a huge amount of explosives were packed into the vehicle and the blast left a deep crater .<br/> <br />Residents said the explosion was so loud that it was heard all over the city. The windows of several government buildings nearby were smashed.
