Justin Bieber appears to have given up on his pet monkey.<br/> <br />The 19-year-old singer has until May 17th to hand in the necessary paperwork to retrieve his capuchin monkey, which was seized at a German airport during a concert stop.<br/> <br />But the head of the Munich animal shelter, Karl Heinz, said Bieber's team has made it clear they will not be picking up the monkey, named Mally.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Karl Heinz, head of Munich animal shelter, saying (German):<br/> <br />"His management got in touch with me. I was then on holiday for two weeks and that's when the second email arrived where they told me that they are trying to find him a place in Germany where he can stay, meaning Justin Bieber will not take him back. I think this is the most sensible thing because a monkey does not belong on any tours and should be with other members of its own species with which it can grow up."<br/> <br />Mally is expected to be transferred from the shelter to a zoo to learn to get along with other monkeys.
