In northern Texas, concrete slabs are all that's left of a home after a powerful tornado ripped this area apart.<br/> <br />At least six people were killed and another seven left missing after the town of Granbury was hit by the most deadliest storm outbreak in the U.S. this year.<br/> <br />With winds of up to 200 miles (321 kilometres) per hour, the tornado left a trail of destruction.<br/> <br />Some of the homes affected had been built by a charity that helps residents struggling on a low income.<br/> <br />Sheriff Roger Deeds of Hood County says the damage is "devastating".<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: (English) SHERIFF ROGER DEEDS, HOOD COUNTY, SAYING:<br/> <br />"I've seen some bad things in my day so I knew this was going to be one of the worst I've ever seen, and it was."<br/> <br />Crews continued searching for survivors on Thursday (May 17) as the clean-up operation began.<br/> <br />Forecasters say stormy weather will next hit other parts of Texas along with Arkansas and northern Louisiana.
