The aftermath of two deadly explosions in southern Afghanistan which killed at least eight people on Friday (May 17).<br/> <br />Two car bombs exploded in a residential area of Kandahar province, which had been developed by investors including the brother of President Hamid Karzai.<br/> <br />Another 60 people were injured in the attack.<br/> <br />Officials say nine children are among the wounded.<br/> <br />Kandahar is one of Afghanistan's most dangerous areas and is considered the birthplace of the Taliban.<br/> <br />Continuing violence has raised concerns about the country's future as foreign troops withdraw next year.
