  • It’s good! But not very accessible

This app starts off nice, easy and fun! But once you get to the end of unit 1, all you can do is NOTHING. And because I’m a pooron (poor + moron), I can’t pay for the subscription. I’m also NOT gonna use 7 day trial since I won’t be able to learn a lot in that period of time. So advice: Add more units that people without subscriptions can use and make subscriptions cheaper.
  • Blows Duolingo out of the water

I’ve been using Duolingo to learn Spanish and Vietnamese for almost two years and I still cannot hold a conversation because Duolingo teaches you random words and sentences that are not used in actual conversation. I’ve been on Ling for just a week and I’ve not just learned common phrases and sentences, but I’ve learned how to write characters, speak (Duolingo is missing speaking for vietnamese), sentence structure and even some cultural context. you can tell Ling Puts more effort into actually teaching you whereas Duolingo is trying to gamify learning too much and using too much AI. I’m upset that I didn’t start Ling sooner, im so happy that this app exists

I started out on Duolingo, but I'm learning a lot faster with this app! The pronunciation is noticeably better, too. Since it uses human voices, I feel like I'm actually getting a great handle on how things should sound. Duolingo's ai voices can sometimes be a bit off. I'm really glad I saw the ad and downloaded it! It's a fantastic app. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars only because of the subscription. As a broke teen, I love free apps, so I hate paying subscription but honestly, it's still amazing. I've been able to use a ton of features and learn so much even without paying!
  • Could use improvements

There’s no test to see where you land in terms of how much you know vs don’t know or may need to improvement upon. It just threw me in with vocab I already knew like mujer, hombre, veinticinco, and so on. The speaking portion is extremely frustrating. In a quiet house, it would come back saying I needed to say it clearer. And maybe I need to work on my pronunciation but my friend whose first language is Spanish said it was fine then tried for themselves and it gave the same message.
  • Great App, better than Duolingo

As a person who struggled with speaking their own native language in their family, i used Duolingo for a bit before the AI stuff. I used Duolingo to open my vocabulary and teach me how to read and write in my language, this app is better than Duolingo as i feel more comfortable with its layout and features, its accents better and accurate. I'm happy this app is AI free but when it comes to saying numbers i keep getting told that my speech is incorrect even as a speaker for some time knowing im saying stuff correctly. other than that there are no issues i have with this app, a great app that i dont regret downloading.

Very similar to duolingo but I don’t have to feel bad about supporting it because It’s real people, giving real lessons, they have a tutoring app available that I would like to try sometime as well with real tutors :0
  • I feel like i'm actually learning!!

I'm a high school graduate who took spanish classes during my time in school. I loved the language so much, and wanted to continue my studies after I graduated, so i picked up duo lingo. I always quit because i was just so bored. The lessons from duo lingo never actually taught me anything as an intermediate level speaker. That, and the fact that they've started using AI, completely turned me against them and i'll never go back. i've tried a couple language apps after that, but i ran into the same problem of never actually learning anything. BUT THIS APP!! The lessons aren't super repetitive, and I'm learning things that are actually relevant to me!! i'm so happy to have found an app that works for me, and i am definitely going to recommend it to people!! thank you!!
  • Only for beginners

It won’t let you skip ahead if you’re been studying it for a little bit unless you get the pro version. But on the free version it seems your stuck to only the basics :(

Ling is good and wonderful app for learning languages but it has issues where you need to pay to use it and only gives you an introduction on the language you are using. Overall Ling is a great app and has great software but only downside you have to pay to fully use it. I wish it was all free app
  • Really great learning tool!

I’m in the midst of a trial, but this app is great in a lot of ways. I really appreciate the audio of the native speakers. Sometimes the sounds are a little buggy. I would really love for dark mode setting so I can study longer.
