Get too advanced before learning the basics

The lessons are okay, it’s just that you have to pay for almost everything and can only get one course in without paying, I have no money and want to learn Tagalog because of my family.. please change it or at least let us do more courses without paying too much money.

Only two lessons in but if I invest 3 hours a week on the treadmill, I’m confident that I’ll have basic tourist vocab before my trip to Serbia in 3 months. Will come back and update after I’ve used it longer.

So happy to have an app that’s more Duolingo like. Takes a lot of work but glad to see it’s finally arrived. Been trying to learn Sinhala for years and this has made it so much easier! Thanks you devs 🙏🏽♥️

I used it to learn Taiwanese Hokkien, I’m wondering if the app would make Chinese Shanghainese on the app? I really want to learn it by using Ling. Moreover, the Taiwanese Hokkien classes are not complete, about the content, there is only a half, comparing to other classes. Can you make a supplements for this language?

I picked this up to re-learn Italian and Spanish. I was once conversational in both and I can now barely string together sentences my vocabulary is so bad. I anticipated some issues with the app but SO MANY of the translations are not quite correct. For example “fare shopping” means to go shopping but it is just translated as “shopping.” I was willing to overlook it but then they used a future tense and translated as present tense so there are grammatical issues as well. And this was just the intro lessons. Add to that, when I marked that I was intermediate it started me with “the basics” anyway. Finally, NO access to any of the intermediate content without committing to a $120 subscription? I get there is a free trial first but that is the only price point you get that trial at which comes off really sleazy. Finally, I’ll also say the speakers don’t seem good, might even be AI. I lived in Italy for a summer and they don’t have the right rhythm in their voices. Honestly, very disappointed this was so expensive with so many mistakes—maybe the price wouldn’t be so offensive if it was actually well made. I’ll definitely be using a different app to regain my conversational status!
