I have tried multiple language apps for Spanish before, and Pimsleur is by far the best for getting you right into real usable conversation. Instead of memorizing vocab or conjugations you are learning to speak in a more natural way.

I am just pleased peaches with this app. I love their teaching style. At first I wasn’t sure if I would like it because I am a kinesthetic learner, but once I tried it all my doubts went away. In 2 days I feel like I’ve gained so much more quality knowledge in Spanish then my 2 years in high school. I’ve never been able to roll my r, but with Pimsleur I have no doubt I’ll be able to soon. Muy bien Pimsleur. Gracias

This is the absolute easiest way to learn a language. Your accent will be excellent too. Practically effortless. Just listen and repeat. I find I have to listen to each lesson about 3 times, so I can do one or two a week. I have used the Mandarin, Norwegian and German.
  • People drop their mouths in surprise when I speak!

Take the thirty minutes every day to learn the lesson and surprise yourself, then surprise others with your new language speaking ability! So glad I committed to this program. I learned Mandarin Chinese and people are in awe of my tone and how close I sound like a native speaker. Never thought I could learn this language but I am speaking some Mandarin daily at work. Anyway, try it and you’ll see.

At 41 years old I have studied 5 different languages in my life, Spanish, French, Wolof, Greek, and Hebrew. All of which have been either traditional studies in a University/postgraduate setting or in-country through immersion accompanied by traditional study approaches. Now, as I am trying to learn Italian while working 2 jobs with a family, I have used a variety of language learning apps with varying degrees of success over the last two years but have been very inconsistent (aka on for a few months and off for even longer). Thus, what little Italian I retained when starting back up puts me back in the beginner bucket. And what I have retained I chalk up to my Spanish. I had looked at Pimsleur in the past but went with free apps instead. I finally decided to take the dive and sign up. If I could go back in time 2 years ago, I would say to myself, “Don't waste your time. Get Pimsleur!” The Pimsleur method is fantastic! It works! It’s great! And the app does an amazing job at listening to you speak and grades your pronunciation. This feature may not be 100%, but it’s an easy 95%. I love that I get to listen to native speakers having real world conversations and not just one word here, another word there, and then random sentences like, “the sugar is on the plate”, as other apps have done. Additionally, they break down the pronunciation of each word to really help you hear how the word is spoken. This is a huge help, much better than other apps that only let you slow the playback speed down and then it is up to my American ears to try to decipher the sounds. The Pimsleur approach really lets you hear and understand how words are structured. If you are considering which language learning app to get, sign up with Pimsleur! It is worth every penny!
  • PLEASE FIX BUG FOR KOREAN

I am currently in Korean 1, lesson #15. Ever since lesson 10, there is this annoying bug where, every time a new word is introduced, “tarra ess eoyo” is spliced in right before it. This sounds like a very clear audio editing mistake, and it is both annoying and confusing. I love Pimsleur and would like to keep using it, but please fix this! Thank you!

Have done Duolingo for a few months. It gets easy to game the system and not think as hard as you should. The audios for this keep me thinking and practice the brain forming my own sentences in Spanish, and then giving immediate feedback as to what it would be. 4 stars because there are a few app glitches. Nothing major but enough that my partner who is also using it brought it up and I agreed to noticing a few little user interface hiccups. But they aren’t too bad. The language lesson part is 5 stars.
