Don’t get me wrong, I like Fable. However, when I go into count how many books I have finished just this year it doesn’t update the total but still lists the number of every book I’ve ever read in my entire life. This obviously means that come December I’m gonna have to count them one by one! Please update this

I used to love using Fable because of the aesthetic and the widget you could use to track your reading on your homescreen. I updated the app today and now you have to pay for the features that were previously free. This is very disappointing and a money grab from the company.
  • The constant pressure to join Fable+ is ruining the app

I joined Fable a few months ago after using Goodreads for over a decade. I wanted to join a reading community that wasn’t toxic like Goodreads can sometimes be, and I was drawn to the visually appealing features of Fable. I really loved the app until a couple weeks ago when the incredibly annoying ad for Fable+ appeared. Despite claiming that a free version of Fable will remain available, there is no way to opt out of the stupid ad. I tried skipping it, I tried listening to it in its entirety, I tried searching for a “decline offer” option. Nothing. The app has now started signing me out so that I’m forced to sign in and see the stupid ad. Every. Single. Time. I am so sick of it that I’m looking for a replacement. I get that we’re in late-stage capitalism, but having a reading app trying to squeeze every last penny out of us is a joke.

Really liking this so far. Very modern looking and easy to use. I like the added bonus of tracking tv shows. I do wish I could track what episode I'm on so when a new season comes out I know where I left off.

Edited because of the paid version. I’ve been loving fable and using the widget. The update came and you have to upgrade it to access now, seems super greedy and to be honest I completely forget to open the app now without the widget. Back to Goodreads I go. ** Deleted positive review from before the paid version widget money grab***
  • Fable Plus took away the reading streak widget

This used to be my favorite app to track my reading and would regularly log on to track my streak and look at other people's reviews/recommendations. Additionally I used to use the widget on my home screen regularly as my reminder to uphold my streak. However, that feature is now subscription only which is incredibly disappointing, since then I have not been tracking my reading like I used to.

I listened to this book on Audible. I started to keep a list of all the mispronounce words, but there were too many. I’m sure the narrator is a nice person but boy, so many misspelled words. Possibly they are miss written in the book??? But even the state of Maryland was pronounced Mary MERRYLAND. And the story was just so so.
