The last few years there have been various quality issues popping up from time to time. The inconsistency in volume level when playing tracks from Apple Music is probably the most annoying of these. Sonos blames Apple. Apple blames Sonos. The user loses. Sad.

Sonos may think they are improving but ever time there is an upgrade it’s drives me crazy. Some days I just use my Bose.
  • No longer reliable

Sonos products are now continually disconnecting from the system so the app no longer finds them. We reset, it it happens again a few days later. It’s very frustrating and disappointing.
  • Annual warning to say: Run Away from the Sonos nightmare

Seriously, run. Sonos is awful. Wants an app update every couple of weeks and never works when you just want a song in a moment. Folks thought this was some steps forward. 8 track by players were more advanced than this bad dream experience. Shocked they’re still in business w such user experience nightmares.

When I first got my Sonos system four years ago, it was awesome. I could play all my music, most of which was a large collection I had compiled and stored over many years on Apple Music. However, starting about a year ago, if not longer, I started getting an encoding error which prohibited me from playing large parts of my Apple Music collection through the Sonos app. I have followed this problem closely over the last year and it remains unresolved. From the posts I’ve seen from Sonos customer service, they are trying to pass the blame on Apple. Apple, in turn, places the blame on Sonos. All this finger pointing has yielded no solution. To me, the problem is with Sonos. I have zero problems playing my Apple Music on other speaker systems. The only time I get the encoding error is when I use Sonos. Sonos says they are aware of the problem and are working to fix it, but it’s been a year and still there’s no solution. As a result, I can only use Sonos to play portions of my collection. At this point, I couldn’t recommend Sonos and the Sonos app to anyone.

Used to be so reliable… 1 month ago it quit connecting to Spotify, yesterday it finally worked, today the app won’t even open, all screens are white, no system, no music, nothing! Pushed play an one of my speakers and it plays my last playlist, but this is ridiculous! What’s going on SONOS??? Do you need more money? I hope not, already have $2k invested in a system that rarely works now. Please do your jobs and fix the app!
