  • Works but not GuideAlong

Maybe we were just spoiled by the GuideAlong tours we’ve used. Seemed like there was not much depth, not much unexpected or surprising and lots of dead air between audio segments. The NPS audio tour doesn’t auto trigger but has much more information about the battle. This app works but could be better.
  • Terrific app for the auto tour

We wanted to do the Gettysburg auto tour but didn’t want to hire someone to drive with us. The app worked great, was easy to use, and was very informative. Well worth the money. Loved how it knew where we were while on the tour. One note, the audio will do silent between landmarks. Don’t mess with it and it will start back up on its own. Glad we found it.
  • Fantastic tour with a built in map

This is the absolute best auto tour for the Gettysburg National Military Park. It has a map built in and it auto triggers using your GPS. We tried other ones and they were extremely faulty and hard to use. The tour is easy to follow and the tour guide even tells you which direction to turn and the road names. The battle information is useful and well narrated.

This app was taking us everywhere but where we needed to be! Very frustrating!! Just use the NPS app…
  • History for the lowest common denominator

I wanted to hear about the actual battle and events that transpired that summer in 1863. Instead I heard a ranting of revisionist history and over generalizations, while driving to random places. Give me stories of people in the battle, what they did, and what it was like, not how this fits into modern politics.

We were all set to do a Segway tour of the Gettysburg battlefield when the forecast called for 90% rain. The tour was cancelled the day before so we scrambled for an alternative solution. We downloaded this app and it was excellent! Great tour, great driving directions, and excellent content! Don’t hesitate, this app will provide you a great tour of the battlefield and the history behind it!
  • GPS is iffy

The GPS activated part is so-so. Often cuts off early. There should be a better method. It should finish the talk unless it hits another section.
  • Crashes

We downloaded the app and used it for the four. When it worked, it was great. However, it crashed so many times! We spent more time pulled over to restart the app and find where we left off. So frustrating! $25 !?!? That’s the most I have ever spent on an app! I have the iPhone 14 and I did reboot several times as well as install and uninstall the app repeatedly….still no difference. Cannot recommend.
  • Great Experience!

I’ve been to Gettysburg many times. My dad moved close a few years ago. It’s always been his favorite place to visit and he was always a Civil War buff. He would be our unofficial tour guide whenever we visited. He now has dementia and when I came to visit from out of state we took the 25 minute drive north to drive around. This allowed us to see all the places and my dad got so excited whenever he would hear something on the audio that would spark a memory. We had a great day and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about Gettysburg while going at your own pace.

It kept crashing my phone and didn’t work at all. The detours on the phone and app were different and after the wheatfield we just gave up as the tour was NOT working. I spent $25 to have all the tours and honestly won’t use or recommend this app again. It was so annoying and frustrating!
