  • No improvement over the years

    I’ve used sparrow for 3 years. In that time they haven’t made improvements or added to the number of mechanics that are looked at. Not worth the money with other options out there today. I was a 5 star rating at one point, but after not seeing improvements time to move on

  • Takes too much battery

    I think it’s a fair price overall. I like the training videos in the app. However it doesn’t really do what it says does. It basically compares your swing against a pro AI model. Uses like ten key check points and you basically try to hit those in every swing. The problem is you need volume to do that and it’s not super accurate. If your camera isn’t lined up perfectly with you it won’t take accurate readings. It uses A LOT of battery power. Just to analyze 5 swings it takes almost 10 mins. So you can’t use it efficiently, you have to wait for the app to analyze 5 swings at a time then find the swings that are actually worth using then try to go again, after 2/3 runs the battery life is depleted. You can’t make adjustments in the moment but going home find what your doing wrong and trying to correct. Even then it doesn’t catch swings but just movement. So for me it’s not responsive enough.

    It’s just such a waste of time to put all your info into and app that’s “free” just for it to block out everything until you pay for the subscription.

    For me I am an advanced player and a +3 handicap +5 or better if I was to put in my home course scores. But the app is very one sided towards a specific teaching preference it seems. This would be a good app for people starting out but if you have a developed swing that you have been taught or have developed through coaching it probably won’t be a good fit!

    This is exactly the type of app I’m looking for, but the analysis isn’t quite perfect. Most of my swings uploaded read my joints wrong. It has my wrist at my forearm, and my elbow around my bicep clocking my arm bend incorrectly. It clocks my hands at takeaway at the wrong time giving mixed results between swings. Wish there was a way to correct where it’s reading joints so that it can properly analyze. I won’t be continuing the free trial but it’s still cool!

    This is so dramatic but I can’t think of an app that set out to do something and did it as well as this app does. I am absolutely mind blown by what it is capable of and felt I had to come and leave a review.
