    This app literally changed my life. I was suffering from constant back pain that was preventing me from doing things I love. I tried massages, manual manipulation, exercise. My Osteopath recommended I try Dr James BackForever program. It was a fabulous, convenient and very effective alternative to physical therapy that started very easy but quickly built my core strength and hip flexibility. I eventually transitioned to FITFOREVER when it was introduced, which i like even more. I enjoy the constantly changing routines, and have been mostly pain free as long as I regularly do both the fundamental and strength routines.

  • Pros & cons

    The pros are that the instructors are fanatical about form. Having had lots of fitness instructors that are clueless about form or how to communicate it, this is a definite pro ("crucial" as one instructor says repeatedly). The cons are that sometimes it's too much instruction; I'm asleep by the time we actually exercise. Each instructor has a definite personality, so I'm working out which ones to avoid. I also find the tubing workouts (I'm traveling) to be a pain - the instructors act as if every home and hotel room has furniture to anchor the tubing at multiple levels. Sometimes the furniture works out, other times I roll my eyes and have to skip the tubing.

    The exercises are well thought out and the iPhone app is OK, but the layout could use some improvement. However, despite the App Store currently hosting an Apple TV FF app, according to the developer it doesn’t work. I wish I knew this before I bought a second Apple TV for my exercise room. They claim they have removed the OTT apps for “a better member experience.” What a crock! AirPlay is an inferior experience and worse they didn’t remove their ATV app from the App Store as of this writing, they simply disabled the ability to login! The exercises are legit but the app experience and developer response is a joke! Might be time to move to Apple Fitness+.

    FITFOREVER is my favorite daily workout routine. It has helped me to gain overall strength and flexibility especially in core strength and back and neck flexibility. Traditional medicine did not help my neck issues. This course taught me that I needed core and back strength and flexibility to really (fix) my neck. It really worked!!! A very happy customer.

    I’ve been doing fit forever for about a year – almost all the way through lockdown – and I am in better shape now than I have been in years! I have chronic sciatica and piriformis pain on my right side and my muscles were weak as a result. I am much more balanced on both sides now, much stronger and far less at risk for new injuries. And I’m building some nice guns as well! Love love love this program!

    The more I have stuck with this program, the stronger I’ve become. My core strength and balance have improved dramatically. The workouts are great because they are short, yet effective. I actually look forward to working out and the workouts are different each time. I also like the self care (foam roller + stretching) portions.

    It’s like having PT sessions at home. Plenty of cues for proper form so I can move safely. So many options, but at the same time easy to navigate so I can quickly choose what I want. I once emailed a question, and Dr. James replied quickly. I really hope to renew this every year.
