I think the monthly membership is great. I want to buy some of the ones with coins but the math is just so far off on some of them for not having a physical owned copy of it with purchase. I just can’t justify a $50 spend on a single series I won’t own…. Sad really…

This app was really great with the monthly subscription until they introduced the gems feature. I got it because unlike other apps it didn’t try to scam a bunch of money out of me by making me buy gems or credits or whatever. But then they introduced the gem feature too. You pay so much for gems only to be able to buy one episode for 5 gems. How quickly will the gems run out for a manga with 100 episodes. The very reason I preferred this app over others is the reason I’m no longer paying for a subscription. I don’t buy the excuse that it’s just access to series that wouldn’t be available otherwise. How do you make sense of that? I’m sure if you could get the series based on the gem feature, you can negotiate paying a higher upfront cost, without squeezing your customers for every last dollar. No thank you.

I’ve been a paid member for a few years. $4 really wasn’t all that much and it was worth it… but not there’s an additional money grab for some series where it wants you to pay PER episode and lots of the comics are locked. I dont understand what’s the use of a membership if it’s not good for anything….

I love the app, it is one of my best apps to read. The only negative part that I don’t like that has made me not read much anymore is the membership 😔 this has been blocking all the comics I would read but I still very much enjoy the app and still recommend to download it ☺️you’ll just have to get the membership in order to read further more into the comics now.

I refuse to pay a membership and then also be forced to pay extra for access to popular series, what’s the point then in the subscription? I have been paying for years but this is the last straw. Used to be my favorite app because I only paid the one time monthly subscription fee to read all the popular titles. Cancelled my membership immediately.

Manta by far has the best features to offer out of all webcomic companies. Not only do they think about their creators, but also their consumers. They understand that affordability is what really drives people to support authors. Which is why I absolutely love their subscription based system. It gets really expensive having to pay for individual chapters. Which is why people often resort to pirating. Their approach is a great way to reduce that issue. Plus, their catalog is amazing! The quality of the app is high quality as well. Never experienced an issue with their platform. My only critique is that I wish there was a comment section feature added. It’s nice to see others reviews and opinions! I’m overall extremely satisfied with my experience with using their app uwu

I have had Manta for such a long time and it never fails to bring me amazing comics. While everyone may need to sift through a few titles before they find their niche, I can ensure you that Manta has a place for you. Every genre is so good and the work I have found has consistently set the bar for comics, especially when we see so many storylines repeated. You can always find something new and refreshing here!

This was my go to app for reading comics because of their subscription based model. I had this for years and it was so refreshing and different compared to other apps that charged gems or points just to unlock episodes and chapters. I was willing to pay a monthly subscription but now they’re just like the other apps I disliked where you need to collect gems to unlock chapters. There’s no use in subscribing when that gives you such limited access. Human greed truly never ends.
