Description

Plan epic road trips with Roadie — a clean, map-first route planner for roadtrippers, campers and vanlifers. Whether you’re mapping a cross-country trip, a two-week camper tour or no fixed plan at all, nothing beats the freedom of the open road. PLAN MULTI-STOP ROUTES Build your itinerary on an interactive map and add as many stops as you like. Every leg shows its distance and driving time, so you know how long each day on the road really takes. BREAK THE TRIP INTO SECTIONS Group your stops into sections — by week, by region, by whatever makes sense for your trip. Then set how each leg is routed: prefer ferries, avoid highways, avoid toll roads, or give the route a date to plan around. CHOOSE THE ROAD YOURSELF Don’t just connect the dots. Drop a waypoint on any leg to lead the route along the coastal road you actually want to drive, without adding another stop to your itinerary. PLAN WHAT YOU’LL DO, NOT JUST WHERE YOU’LL DRIVE Add highlights to any stop — the viewpoint, the bakery, the hike someone told you about. Each one can sit on the map in its own right, or be nothing more than a note. Highlights belong to the stop rather than the route, so adding them never changes your driving. KEEP A TRIP JOURNAL Every route doubles as a travel diary. Give a stop its arrival date, or a date range with the nights you’re staying, then add times, notes and photos. Open the Trip Journal to read the whole trip end to end, highlights and all — while you plan it, and long after you’re home. DISCOVER READY-MADE ROAD TRIPS Browse curated road trips by region and copy any of them into your account with one tap. Drive it as it is, or make it your own. COLLECT PLACES IN LISTS Star the places you don’t want to forget and sort them into lists — “Hot springs”, “Coffee stops”, “Next summer”. Give each list a cover photo, and share a whole list with the people you’re travelling with. FIND PLACES ALONG THE WAY Search by category for campsites, restaurants, gas stations, EV chargers, national parks, hiking areas, rest areas and more — right where you’re looking on the map. Tap any place on the map to add it to your route or your saved places. PLAN IT TOGETHER Invite friends and family to a route or to your place lists. Everyone sees the same map and every change as it happens. NAVIGATE, AND READ IT OFFLINE Start navigation to your next stop in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze or Sygic. Out of signal? Your routes stay readable offline. BUILT FOR THE BIG SCREEN On iPad, map and itinerary sit side by side. Dark mode included. IMPORT AND EXPORT GPX Open a GPX file straight from Files or a share sheet and it becomes a Roadie route. Export any route as GPX — stops, sections, highlights and notes all travel with it — or open it as a web page for someone who doesn’t have the app. ——— ROADIE IS FREE TO USE The free plan includes 2 routes with up to 30 stops each, 10 starred places, 1 place list and the first search category. Adding highlights to your stops is free, however many you add. Roadie Premium lifts every limit and unlocks notes and photos on stops, places and highlights, planning together, duplicating routes, and GPX import and export. Premium search also covers every category and draws on a richer place database, so results come back with better names, addresses and ratings. Premium is what keeps Roadie going — we’re a team of two, with no ads and no selling your data. ——— Terms of Use: https://getroadie.app/terms Privacy Policy: https://getroadie.app/privacy_policy

Building a weekend road trip or longer trip across the ocean is easier with Roadie. Can make the route and place of interests.

Love the app! Great to help us plan our 24 day, 4500 mile road trip!

The app is super easy to use and learn. We have the free version and I love it! Just got a new car without native navigation system so may pay for the upgrade to roadie to see what other benefits it has. I like that I can see all my stops in one over view or zoom into them individually. Unlike Waze and Google, there’s no limit to stops. I’ve used this for roadtrips mostly but also on weekends for planning out estate/yard sale routes.

I’ve used this to plan 6 trips so far and it’s been great. There are other more expensive apps that have more features, but this has the basics of what I need. You can map out major stops, search and add stops along the route, and click the next stop in the route to feed coordinates to the map app for navigation. I am paying the monthly fee as I’ve been evaluating the app and will be switching to the long term subscription next. I will say that, after having paid for the lifetime subscription the support is no longer responding to an issue I am having. Until I figure this out, do not add an image to the trip name. It will result in the browser-based view of the trip to not show.

I’ve used Roadie twice to take a long road trip, and loved it both times. it’s extremely easy to use simply plug in your destinations and add them to your route. it offers a way to schedule/rearrange your itinerary, which is extremely helpful. You can use the itinerary to plan out how long each day will be or what you plan on doing each day of your trip. I did what seem to be bugs in certain areas. For example I was planning a trip that was going on the “Going to The Sun” road and for some reason it kept calculating the route going around the whole park to the other side. I later think this was because I was planning our trip early spring and the roads weren’t open.
  • Cost?

Why hide the subscription cost? Searched the site and the app. Ended up deleting

This is one of the best Travel Apps I have ever owned. I first did the month to month but quickly realized it would be better just to purchase it outright. I have currently have over 12 trips including two to Europe.

One of the best apps for road trip planning, I am able to create many roadtrips with gas, hotel, restaurants along the way, allowing me to view estimated time. Love it.
