This used to be an amazing app. Now there are so many ads that it’s unusable.
  • Beautiful, so useful. So many options.

4/8/24. Thank you for this app. I used it for years. I must have paid for the extra info. I don’t have ads, I have full access to everything. So long ago. I just introduced it to three friends. I show them the astroid Gaspra, the first picture of an asteroid ever taken, that we took as engineers on the NASA/JPL Galileo interplanetary spacecraft on our journey to Jupiter. I was the shift’s lead system engineer during the closest approach (CA), We also took the Ida pictures show here. Fantastic to share close and far parts of the universe. I also see one of my favorite galaxy's, The Sombrero, so magnificent. You also include the working Aqua Weather Satellite trajectory that I worked on before it was launched. It has an orbit of 90 minites around the earth - polar to polar. . One of several on programs of Masa’s studies of earth climate. Best all. Jose M.
  • Blinds you with cheesy ads so you can’t see stars

I forgot why I deleted this app, but here is why. Tonight, I wanted to identify what I am seeing in the very clear night sky after the starlink launch. I hold my iPad toward Orion and TA DA, an extremely bright video game ad pops up, temporarily making me unable to see Orion, let alone other less visible constellations. OK, they need money. I waited out the ads. My eyes adjusted to the night again. There are two stars directly overhead I couldn’t identify, so I lift my iPad into position and… another extremely bright cheesy ad. I hate this app.

Paid for the app, but, instead of updating it, I get ads for the new (paid) star walk 2. How is this ok? Idk.
  • Ads are ridiculous

It’s impossible to rate this app as the ads completely take over the app and there is zero functionality without multiple layers of ads and hyperlinks…. Can’t even evaluate the quality to determine if it’s worth paying for so I’ll save some $$
  • Increasingly buggy

This app has become increasingly buggy. Freezes constantly. Have to restart the app all the time to get it to recognize where it is and not be locked frozen on a view. Started out great but seems like support is no longer there
  • It’s an informative app

There is a lot of good information on the countless objects that can be seen from earth as well as many that are essentially alien to most people (I had to say it haha 👽). The only issue I have is that the back button to get back to the sky from the information page doesn’t work, so I have to force quit the app and reopen it every time. It is driving me crazy.

Don’t bother trying to find anything because you’re gonna get interrupted by ads
  • Ads. So many ads..

I have paid for Star Walk twice. Once for the original app and again for Star Walk 2. I cannot tell you how much enjoyment I have gotten from Star Walk over the years. When Star Walk went to subscription based, I just gave it up. This is a luxury I can’t afford. I started to use the app very occasionally, maybe once or twice a year. The features would change or get updated, or I no longer had access to them so I moved on. Tonight we have a stunning moon with a planet trailing it and I wanted to know which one. I guessed right, Jupiter. Then I got flashed with 4 ads and a video in less than 60 seconds. Say what you want, but I am not exaggerating. I had the app sound off and then some Youmusician or something ad came on and the sound was back (probably because the iPad wasn’t silenced, only the app) and we all got to listen to a very loud guitar lesson. My sleeping neighbors would like to say Thank You. Or something that sounds very similar. So disappointed that I can’t and don’t want to pay for something I already bought. I have uninstalled everything.
