You all are incompetent . You advertise pay at property, however you charge prior to check in and cancel reservations. When contacting property , the property explains that you all are charging and putting on a ghost card and then releasing to hotel after check in and if you don't pay booking ahead of time they cancel the reservation and then up the hotel fees to reserve the same room. The property stated I could pay at time of check in so it is not the hotel, it's booking.com that screws it up.
I stopped using booking.com due to their incompetency for over a year. Decided I would give them a try again. HUGE MISTAKE !!! Never again!
BEWARE OF 3RD PARTY SCAMS! I

Rated 1 only because there isn’t a 0, booked for a family of 6 they gave me 2 separate rooms way too far apart, the 2 queen room as soon as we opened that door it smelled like a room that was lived in by a dirty person and BO I went to the local dollar tree and got cleaning supplies and cleaned nasty the smell that hit us as soon as we opened was horrible as I cleaned I found tons of hair all over the floor and some old dead bugs and the rags that I cleaned with where sooo nasty it was sad we had to open the windows to venir out the room and the little couch was soo dirty aswell and the bedding had a weird smell that I had to put my own blanket under I wouldn’t recommend to stay here at all sorry but this was a horrible experience
Booking.com is a SCAM!!!

I booked a hotel through Booking.com based on their listing stating it was 0.5 miles from JFK Airport and offered smoking rooms—two features I specifically filtered for. In reality, the hotel was over 11 miles away in Manhasset, and the property was 100% non-smoking. Booking.com even asked me twice during booking if I wanted a smoking room, reinforcing the false advertising. I later discovered that many other hotels on their site are also listed with incorrect distances and amenities, including OSAs Luxury Stay and others, which misstate proximity to JFK by miles. This appears to be a systemic problem, not an isolated error. When I contacted Booking.com, I was left on hold for over an hour multiple times, received no manager call back, and was ultimately sent a canned email denying fault—even after I submitted screenshots proving the misrepresentation. They refused to offer a refund or relocation, despite these violations. As a result, I was left stranded, incurred unnecessary travel costs, and must now dispute the charge with my credit card provider. This conduct violates: • New York General Business Law §§ 349 & 350 – deceptive acts and false advertising • FTC Act § 5 – unfair or deceptive trade practices • Booking.com’s own Terms, which require resolution via refund or relocation when listings are incorrect Their callbacks even came through as “Scam Likely.” If this happens to you, document everything, file complaints with the New York Attorney General, FTC, BBB, and NYC Department of Consumer & Worker Protection. I also encourage others affected to consult a consumer protection attorney. Based on the scope of errors I’ve uncovered—and a pending FOIA request—this appears to be a widespread issue with potential for a class action lawsuit.
Update: booking.com responded by asking me to immediately call customer service again, which I did several times, only to be ignored again.
