The ‘MD5' app performs the advertized function; it will generate a MD5 has for a text string, OK ... The app will NOT provide the MD5 hash for a file. I did not find ‘MD5' very useful. I downloaded ‘HASHR' for $2 and this app provides the same string hash function and will also provide the MD5 hash for a file to check if the file has been tampered with. 'HASHR' worked GREAT!!!

The only thing you can generate a hash for is what you can put in the box. There isn't a way to run this against a file you've saved your text to.
