    I got this app almost a year ago, and I have already seen a massive decline in quality of the content. The age requirement was abolished, and as such so many little kids flooded the app which isn’t bad inherently, but it resulted in begging for followers instead of posting actual fish. Feed preference settings don’t work, I would click what species I’d like to see and which ones I wouldn’t, and I still just saw Carp and Bass. Payment is becoming more and more necessary, and there isn’t much worth in the app anymore. This app has so much potential and started out great, and has slowly gotten so bad that I deleted my account and got rid of the app.

    Fishbrain WAS an amazing app, many years ago. But greed has absolutely gotten the best of the developers. You can no longer see recent catches from bodies of water unless you pay. I remember when you could see all catches at any body of water for free, you could get an idea of when the fish bite (time of year) and what baits people may be using. Now? You can see pictures in a small form, but if you click on them, you have to pay. You can’t see past the most recent 3 or so in small form unless you pay. It’s terrible. Very disappointed in what this app has become

    Beyond sad to see how this app has turned so money hungry. Used to be able to see pictures and different catches for free, now you need to pay at least $6 a month just to see pictures of other people’s catches. Pathetic.

    Nearly their entire app is blocked by a pay wall. A few years ago it was really nice to use but now you can’t even view catches for bodies of water without paying. This app has really gone down hill and I’m pretty disappointed.

    I honestly think that having a monthly plan on app like this is gatekeeping at it’s finest like just show me where to fish why should I have to pay you for it? Can’t even use filters on the map without paying. Instantly deleted it and got 0 use of it.

  • Good app but getting greedy and taking away important features

    You literally have to pay to use the main function of the app which is to see the catches in the ponds on the map. I’ve been using fishbrain since 2020 and progressively, they have been making more and more of the features only for fishbrain pro. The whole point of fishbrain is to see the fish caught in your local ponds and lakes but how are you about to make me pay for that when first of all it used to be free and second of all is literally the most important part of the app.

    I used to like this app when it first came out. It used to actually be fun! You could catch fish and unlock them in your catch book kinda like fishing new Pokémon (the real OGs remember that). Since then this app has gone completely down the toilet. The only thing it’s good for now is just to find out the name of different water ways and only post pictures of your catch. You can’t even look at what people are catching in a new body of water without paying for it. You have to pay to even set a freaking search filter!!!! Not to mention there’s always map glitches and customer support is non helpful. They just third party their customer support out to India. You might as well have had to pay to download the app and be done with it. 100% would NOT recommended using this app. 👎👎👎
