I’m a long-time Proton user and a big supporter of their mission. I pay for the full suite, and I trust Proton more than almost any company when it comes to privacy, encryption, and transparency. That’s why I was really excited to see Proton launch their new wallet — until I realized the only supported cryptocurrency is Bitcoin (BTC). That decision feels totally backward for a company built on privacy. Bitcoin is public by design — every transaction is permanently visible on the blockchain. There’s nothing private about that. If Proton truly wants to align the wallet with its brand and values, the first and only coin that should have been supported is Monero (XMR) — the only major cryptocurrency that actually protects user privacy. Anyone can find a decent Bitcoin wallet. But a truly secure, privacy-centric wallet from a company like Proton that supports Monero (XMR) would be revolutionary. I’m still a loyal Proton user, but this feels like a missed opportunity. Supporting Monero (XMR) would make Proton Wallet live up to the same standard of privacy the rest of the ecosystem represents.

Love it, works flawlessly. I wish it had ETH and XMR support.

It has functionalities that make this app very user-friendly, I love the fact I can reflect my balance in SATS so I can have a different view on my accumulation. You can create more than one account and you can even send bitcoin through email

Please remove the ability to buy bitcoin. It erodes trust in the wallet. If the ability to buy bitcoin is kept, please provide all fees (and spreads) for absolute transparency. Please consider different providers. Please add Lightning Network support.

What I don’t like is only BTC. What about XRP and others cryptocurrencies?

Great app! I would ditch all other crypto wallets if this could hold other coins, including stable coins!!! Please add it!

It’s that Proton created this wallet. It does exactly what it’s suppose to do. However, the app needs several improvements. 1) Security: Finger Print & 2FA are the only methods in regards to add more security in order to open the app, etc. I would like to see Passcode & physical security key (Yubikey) support added. 2) Crashes: When attempting to set up or look at the recovery phrase, the app crashes multiple times. I’m using an IPhone 14 Pro, with updated app and software. Still crashes. Same thing happens on the web version. — These suggestions I mentioned seem to me like they should be standard in any self custodial wallet.

Absolutely impossible to successfully purchase Bitcoin through any of the companies Proton has partnered with, Banxa and the other two whose names I don’t remember. And customer support from those companies is useless. I made a few dozen attempts and the process failed every time. Banxa blames my bank, but the attempted transactions never got far enough for my cc to get an opportunity to block

Please don’t overload it with unnecessary features. It would also be great to see support for Ethereum, Solana, and XRP in the future. Thanks

How an app launches without a dark mode option, after this long, in 2025 is beyond me…
