Beware peer grading and customer service

This concept is really good. There are a lot of very good courses out there with interesting material to learn. For the most part, it’s easy to learn material on your schedule.
Many courses have a peer grading system which doesn’t work as it’s supposed to. Sometimes there aren’t enough graders. Sometimes AI automatically grades you. In my case I kept receiving an automatic zero. It wasn’t clear why but turned out their system was generating unreadable characters (out of normal English) and the AI was then generating a 0 and not allowing a human grader to see it.
Their customer service is another example of bad businesses trying to save a buck instead of respecting their customers. They try to automate a lot and the rest is outsourced to people with no authority and no common sense. They just kept saying I hadn’t performed well enough to receive credit for the assignment. They weren’t even looking into my submission and seeing that I clearly deserved more than 0 points. This went six iterations and they didn’t really resolve it. I just kept resubmitting until eventually a human grader passed me, two months later. Shame on Coursera!
App improved

Thank you for making learning easy, I remember 3-4 years ago app wasn’t having all these features as it is now. Is easy to use and comfortable, I prefer learning from mobile app, rather than desktop version, which tells a lot about the product!

Offline Mode Needs Work

By Jetethan
It would be great if Coursera could improve offline mode, especially since I assume many users are watching content on trains, planes, etc... I frequently download videos to watch on the subway where there is spotty cell service between stations.
Unfortunately, the app doesn’t switch between online/offline mode gracefully. Even though the video is downloaded, when cell signal strength drops, the app freezes. Putting the phone into airplane mode and re-starting the app solves this, but this is anything but graceful. Would be nice to be able to seamlessly watch content switching between offline/online mode.
Awesome

I’m still relatively new to Coursera but, I’m enjoying my time so far.
