  • Reselling on this app is getting worse

    I sold a dress for $28.00 they claim no fees! For selling which is completely false. Some how after selling fees, processing fees I am left with $23.00 then to take it out is now $2.00. It’s down to $21.00. I would have rather kept my dress. Or sold it on poshmark for more. I will no longer sell on here. The fees are just ridiculous. The dress was worth $150.00 I pretty much gave it away for free.

    They basically switched their fee system up so the seller isn’t charged frees, but instead the buyer now sees and pays more fees. So it drives your items price down further, making you less money, even though you’re being told you’re not paying fees. Also they charge to withdraw money no matter what whereas before there was just a minimum to get no fee, so it kind of forces you to save up, or pay the fee over and over again. Now remember how the fees are on the buyer side? Now every item price between shipping and fees drives up so high, it feels way less worth it to buy on here. Like I’m no longer really saving much on the item cost, because the fees change make it so much more expensive to buy. I’ll keep selling on here probably but I’m done buying for the most part. I was really pumped for Mercari too. I used to tell everyone “oh this is great. I buy and sell. It’s not to expensive. Really worth it vs eBay”. Now I had to withdraw all this recommendations moving forward because, like many apps, they get lost in overhead and have to up their fees to stay profitable. Very sad.

    there fees are absolutely out rageous on top the the fact you have to pay sales and income tax means their is almost no way to profit off this app they charge 130 in fees for a 550$ battery i bought and he walked away with less that 500 they are pocketing so much it is crazy and now they are also making a withdrawal charge for every withdrawal YOUR MUCH BETTER OFF SELLING ON EBAY OR FACEBOOK

    I was lucky enough to find this great app. Right after, they “took way to fees” translation- buying is more expensive and selling as a new seller is impossible. I’m going to find a new site. It’s one thing having to pay extra to the four people I bought from. It’s another when all possible buyers now don’t know what the final price will be as it’s no longer transparent. I had 0 issue with paying part of my profit to the platform. Its better then having a clock ticking like with eBay. It’s better then paying $40 for a table in a dusty hall where it’s difficult to go to the bathroom. I’m asking you guys change it back. I’ll pay a percent and the buyer can just pay for the item plus shipping. Why did you do this!!!!?

    I used to love selling and buying on Mercari. They introduced “No seller Fees” a couple months back and I didn’t realize that they meant that when you Buy something on here you pay ALL THE FEES. Now 20$ items are 35$. 60$ items become 80$ and anything over 100$ and you’re outta your mind to pay the outcome. I don’t mind paying fees to sell, I’ll bite the bullet on that. PLEASE get rid of the new Buyer fees.

    I was excited to sell on this app and have had three successful sales. Unfortunately, I’ve come across an issue with a return because a buyer has claimed that the items I shipped over did not match his expectations. He submitted a return with POOR QUALITY photos that were blurry and not clear. The request got approved and I expressed my concerns to Mercari. How does something get approved when the proof in the photos are not even clear compared to what I listed? I asked them how they can ensure that I am not being scammed and they just sent me a general answer. You can’t even send them a general email or complaint — you need to choose from the options they provided. As a seller — be very cautious, you’ll lose money. I feel Mercari does not have our backs.

    This has to be the best app to sell your things on. Customer service is quick and available, fees are non existent, the shipping process is simple with pdf labels sent directly to email and the sale is final after 72 hours from arrival. Just super.
