Description

A steamy, heart-wrenching small-town romance from award-winning author Lydia Michaels—where love and loyalty collide in the most scandalous way.

She belongs to his brother. He's devoted to God. Some temptations are worth the fall…

Colin McCullough has spent his life preparing to take his Holy Orders—until Samantha Dougherty turns his world upside down. She's off-limits in every way, but resisting her? Impossible. The more he fights his forbidden desire, the harder he falls.

In a town where everyone talks and sins never stay secret, Colin faces an agonizing choice: his faith or the woman who tempts him to break every vow.

I thought this book would be about a guilt-ridden, woe-is-me, martyr! It was not!! It was truly a FABULOUS read! The characters were well developed and endearing. The vast array of true emotion was palpable. I, surprisingly (as an atheist), enjoyed this book.

Loved this book. I was honestly obsessed with it. I absolutely adored the tension. It’s kind of a slow build but Lydia edges you so that when the real spice comes it is so much better. Sweet and innocent but yummy and spicy. I love seeing the inner struggles of people who try and try to do the right things but nature won’t release its chokehold. This is the second of Lydia’s books I’ve fallen for and won’t be her last. UPDATE Months later and I still swoon over this book.

Almost Priest is book #1 in the McCullough Mountain series. This was a beautifully written love story that held my attention until the very end. Loved Sam and Colin’s journey and chemistry. Narrator Amber Battaglia did a great job.

Absolutely fantastic book that you will not want to put down! Lydia Michaels does an amazing job at engrossing you with the plot and adding the perfect blend of spice to fulfill the steaminess need. I absolutely loved the premise behind this book. It’s the first almost priest trope that I’ve read and it was definitely a great introduction. Each character was easy to fall in love with and I can’t wait to read more.

First time reading this author. I chose to read the book because of the five star reviews. The writing wasn’t bad, but the story line was offensive, and the sex came too soon and too often under the circumstances. Not my type of book.

Colin has always known his life was meant for the church. Samantha never worried about her love life because she was too busy running from her past. A beautiful poignant story of life’s journey and how no matter how much we think we are in control we really aren’t!

Colin McCullough has known what he was supposed to do with his life for years. Nothing could make him doubt his decision to become Father Colin the priest. Nothing that it is, until he meets his brothers friend Sammy. This was such a beautiful story! I fell in love with this big family immediately! I’ve loved this author’s writing style for awhile now and this book was no exception. So many feels!!!! ❤️ This book was an awesome beginning to this series and I can’t wait to read each and every title from the McCullough Mountain Series by Lydia Michaels.

I LOVED this book!!! It was a bit different than what I usually read, with one brother bringing the girl home, and her falling in love with another brother. (Braydon was a bit much at the beginning of the book, but he turned out to be an awesome secondary character in this book) Colin and Sam each faced challenges throughout the book, but together they were able to overcome them. I enjoyed getting to know each of the McCullough's, and have to say I am looking forward to Kelly's book the most. A definite must read, and a great start to the McCullough family series!!
