A long, drawn out one, one that kept me up late more than once. I will be wanting some more.

Love the in depth interviews and police procedurals

It was good but very slow at times, almost like full scenes of a movie being written out.

I love the detail that Tara French puts in her stories.
  • Not my favorite of her books

This book felt, to me, bogged down with so much irrelevant information and emotional tribulation—it was a bit of a journey to just get through it. The main character wasn’t super likable and I often felt bad for her partner, however, Tana French is so freaking good at what she does. Her characters are incredibly believable and realistic, and though I’ve appreciated all her books—including this one—I just think The Trespasser was my least favorite. Perhaps duller and more predictable than her others?

Another winner from Tana French. Complex characters dealing with complicated issues. Deeply satisfying.
  • Awful

Soooooo needlessly long and a strong female detective is an awesome thing. One that’s just bitter and mean and says “@#%&” her about her victim is another. I shut down after that. The main character is awful. Wasted a few hours on this
  • Phenominal!

I have just completed reading all of Tana French’s books, in chronological order. And while I like all of her books, some are better than others. This sixth book, the Tresspasser, was phenomal! Trying to solve the crime while seeing everything through the psychological weaknesses of the lead character, kept me thinking and trying to figure out what was really happening and what was just imagined. It really challenged me, and I couldn’t put it down. Loved the storyline, and all the characters. I highly recommend it.

In this, her third or fourth novel that I have read, she, or rather I ket myself to be to be led, sometimes nudged, into dead ends with slippery floors. By the time I found the light and the right oath to the solving of this mystery, i felt a bit foolish while at the same time feeling comfortable about staying the course to enlightenment and not simply gobsmacked with uncertainty about following her main characters trail of crumbs. She does an excellent job of getting the reader involved in the mystery and T the same time not using cheap tricks to confound you though confound you she does in spurts. She, Tamara French, doesn’t let me down and i am grateful for that. She provides well crafted stories with really good characters. Looking forward to reading the next one. Reading about crime outside of Chicago and the states lets me know we are not alone in being immersed in all the bad stuff that hits the nightly news. Peace out John

I guess I’m too American for Tana French. I find her books (I’ve read 3 others) to be sluggish and predictable, like a lot of British crime mystery movies and TV shows. Her characters and plots unfold rather monotonously.
