Nothing happens. This entire book lacks the depth of character or adequate explanation of Rama to be interesting enough to recommend. More time is spent describing a staircase than any of the characters. There are no answers found which would be fine if the story itself or the characters could pick up the slack. Which they very much do not.

Like exploring the Egyptian pyramids Rama is an alien puzzle that is solved only to reveal a new puzzle.

I read this a long time ago, forgot about it completely and found I liked it much better this time. It held my interest and that’s a big endorsement. Its probably more interesting after the passing of Oumaumau. Well you can’t rule it out and this was written back in the 70s. Also it’s a pretty quick read.

So well-written and creative application of scientific principles with old predictions that are coming true. Loved it.

I was tasked with reading this for a class one summer in college. I was hesitant but once I dove in I couldn’t put it down. As soon as I finished I raced out to find the other books in the series.
