I’m beginning to think Cameron pisses excellence, because this series has been nothing short of….excellence.

Unfortunately for me, I devoured this book too fast—nay, binged. I was irresponsible in my consumption (Greek shrug). I adore this story. I’ve read what I call “sword-and-shield” historical fiction for decades, but was never interested in Medieval fiction until Cameron’s Will Gold. Read the series, soup-to-nuts. Then do it again. Gold, Hawkwood, Beppo, Bebo, Janet (who can forget Janet 😍?), Marie, The Visconti….all of them. I love them all. Cameron’s character development has reached a new high, and his ability to transport the reader to another time and place is unrivaled. I can’t recommend this book enough. I guess I’ll just reread it and then wait patiently for the next installment of Will Gold’s adventures. And Christian, I’m also patiently waiting for Swan.
