Don't go into it thinking it's a sales book - it's not going to help you get in front of a lot of potential clients. It is a good guide to help change the way you think internally (I.e., how you see yourself in a larger framework). There are very good ideas and exercises to use, and it's worth the read. Just don't plan on getting ideas on how to pursue business.

I learned about Andrew Sobel while consulting at a global executive search firm. I was immediately drawn to Mr. Sobel’s body of work and began to study his books and methodologies. His latest book, Power Questions is another confirmation of his status as a leading authority on client relationships. Power Questions is a guide that will enhance all your relationships and interactions with people in your daily life. It has a practical and compelling flow that disseminates a logical way of using questions and nicely illustrates real life scenarios for implementation. This is another outstanding book from Andrew Sobel and should be a part of your library and personal development toolkit.

Reading Power Questions reminds us how simple and effective questions can be in determining outcomes. We all would like to believe we are good listeners and deep thinkers, but Power Questions demonstrates that a simple inquiry can show genuine commitment, get to the root of a situation and help action come about. This book is a light and enjoyable read, but don't miss the serious underlying points these authors make - questions do matter. Sobel and Panas take the reader to the heart of what creates real and lasting relationships and personal and business success. And when the enjoyable individual stories conclude, they deliver an invaluable toolkit of questions you can immediately use in a variety of areas. This book should be a valuable and permanent part of any collection for those who value the people they interact with, and the joy those relationships bring.
