Description

The snowstorm of the century is approaching, and my only hope of getting home for Christmas is my grumpy, rich, and definitely off limits client.

A closed airport, fifty miles of Swiss countryside, and the threat of record-breaking wind and snow stand between me and flying back to my family in New York. The family that labels my job as a personal stylist as "frivolous" and "shallow."

My client, Peter, is working just as hard as I am to get me on that plane.

It seems he really doesn't want me crashing his family's Chanukah based on the tension in the air and the grunts he aims my way.

Grunts I should not find sexy.

But we may not have a choice. And when his family opens their warm, cozy home to me, I may realize that, beneath his frost, Peter makes me melt.

Frosty Proximity is a cute Christmas novella. Kara is a personal stylist is in Switzerland to assist Nash and Clara and Nash's business partner Peter for a Christmas gala. Nash runs Heartly from the US and Peter runs the Switzerland office. Nash makes Peter promise to get Kara to the airport the following day. A snow storm moves in faster than expected causing Kara to be stuck in Switzerland. Peter's mom, Nora, makes him invite Kara to their house so she isn't sleeping in a hotel or the airport. Kara is accepted by Peter's family and has a good time getting to know them and cook with them. She also celebrates Hanukkah for the first time. Kara is accepting of his transgender niece Sylvie which is something he was concerned with because is ex wasn't. Peter's mom also set it up to where he either had to sleep on the couch or share a bed with Kara. He had a crush on her as her client but that crush turned into more with her having to stay with them through the storm. I really enjoyed Frosty Proximity and I'm glad Liz Alden sent me an ARC. I look forward to reading Nutcracker with Benefits by Liz Alden.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick read to get them into the holiday spirit, enjoys some steam and would love the two together! This was a quick read that I enjoyed a lot. There were a few steamy scenes in the book but still enough romance that the connection made sense and didn't seem forced between the characters. Quite the accomplishment for the author to be able to pull off a believable romantic connection that is well-written in less than 150 pages but Liz Alden did just that! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
