  • It’s a constant struggle…

    4.8 stars This is the third book in the Corsican Crime Lord series, and it is not a standalone. I will also caution those with triggers to proceed with caution. The book picks up where Hate Like Honey ended and there is a brief recap. However, things go from bad to worse and Angelo is struggling with his feelings towards Sabella. He is dealing with so much pain and loss that his only outlet is Sabella. She is willing to do anything for the man she fell for but not at the expense of losing herself. This storyline will have any reader entranced by the dynamics between Angelo and Sabella and when some other of Angelo’s family enter the picture…For all of the action and retribution, there are heartfelt moments that will have you salivating for more. I cannot wait for the next book.

    Tears Like Acid continues the dark romance between Sabella and Angelo who are settling into their unusual conditions of their marriage. Angelo seeks revenge upon Sabella as an informant confirms she has betrayed him with Officer Lavigne when she was held at the police station following their wedding and banishes her to the home built for his deceased mother’s family. Their story has great characters, angst, lies, betrayal, intrigue, misunderstandings, and steamy passion. This well written and excellent series by Charmaine Pauls concludes in the final book, Kisses Like Rain. I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

    I thoroughly loved, loved, loved reading the amazing and awesome third book in the series, and I honestly could not stop reading it. While Sabella is just trying to survive day by day, Angelo's hatred and revenge continues toward Sabella. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting storyline engaging the reader from the first page until the last page of the story. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the phenomenal author, Charmaine Pauls!

Even in death she’ll be punished, banished to her corner like a traitor deserves.” Grief makes people do and think wild things. Angelo is completely unhinged and isn’t thinking properly. He’s awful and making rash decisions. There’s a war inside his head. He loves and hates his wife and he’s gonna end up being his own downfall if he keeps this up. This is part of a four book series, and it makes me nervous as to what point he’s got a change his tune. Sabella was banished to another house. Isolated but not defeated, she makes friends and her own money in secret. She comes to know one of the “feral” children from Angelo’s side of the family and becomes attached to the child. Book three is a bit of a filler book. We see something is brewing behind the scenes with Angelo’s uncles. Something isn’t right and I’m curious to find out what’s going on! “She can run until she doesn’t have a single breath left in her lungs, but she can never hide from me.”

    his third book basically starts off where the second one ends. It is a book that has you hooked from the very beginning of it. It is a very emotional rollercoaster for both our characters and for ourselves. You can feel their emotions as if they are your own. You go through the journey with both Sabella and Angelo as they try to figure out what to do with each other. With Angelo you want to hate him but yet you can't help but love him. He has been through so much pain that you understand how he feels. The same can be said for Sabella. I really loved the growth that she does in this book. You really see a side to her that is absoultly amazing. I do not like to give any spoilers to my reviews because I really want someone else to enjoy the story as much as I did. So, I won't give anything away but let me tell you that this book sucked me right in and didn't let go. We get the end of this book and boy what a cliffhanger it is. You are saying to yourself that you have to know what is going to happen. The store is extremely well written and developed. It is a story full of secrets and half truths. It is a story that is darker and you have this amazing moments through it. This is an absolute must read.

    Even when I know it’s gonna end in a cliffhanger I’m still anxious the closer I get to the end. This book takes you on an emotional roller coaster. I want to dislike Angelo and how’s he’s treating Sabella, he’s been through so much pain and can’t bring himself to continue hating her. Sabella’s figuring out her feelings for Angelo and how to deal with him. She’s heard the backstory of his parent’s marriage and thinking on her next move. There’s a lot of distrust and misunderstanding between Sabella and Angelo. This book is about them discovering their feelings and their marriage. I have so many questions and can’t wait for the last book to finally get my answers. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

  • Tangible hope in Tears Like Acid!

    This review won’t be too long since it’s the third book in Angelo and Sabella’s journey, and I don’t want to give spoilers. We pick up right where we left off in book two, and at first “everything feels hopeless” for Sabella. As the story moved along, I enjoyed the tangible glimmers of hope for Sabella and Angelo and the realizations they both had. Will they be “broken forever?” I can’t wait to find out in the last book of their story! *I requested and received an advanced copy of this ebook, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
