  • Good for 12 year olds…

This is the most superficial novel I’ve ever read. Undeveloped characters with no inner life. I don’t even know what they look like. Little description of setting. Just a lot of dialogue. I skipped through it in 2 hours. It’s basically a Hallmark movie. I’m not sure who the audience is for this kind of writing. It’s totally without merit.

    Pleasant but predictable.

A fan of most of her stuff but this one just felt like it moved on too fast. The storylines weren’t really very complex.

I keep hoping for better, but like all her books this one lacks depth and seems forced. The characters are shallow, the dialogue lacks emotion and the choices made by characters are abrupt and often seem like the hardest possible option….with the ending still being utterly predictable.

In true Emily Giffin fashion another book that is hard to put down.

This just wasn’t Emily’s best work. Even the big “shocker” moment wasn’t that shocking. It was a really predictable novel. You KNEW exactly how it was going to end.
  • Not great but I finished it

This book was not great. I didn’t really get deep with any of the characters and didn’t feel the love of the main couple. That said, it was easy and satisfying in a predictable and formulaic way, so give it 2 stars.

Too much driveling detail. Story could have been told in 30 pages. Like reading someone’s diet diary.
