Description

I know what you did last summer.

Aubree Walker, the perfect girl most likely to succeed, is sure there’s only one person who knows what she did.

Booker Outlaw, one of the three Outlaw brothers—all identical, all gorgeous, all from the wrong side of the tracks, and all pure bad boys. He was always the unpredictable one, the one who would be brash enough to make it big self-publishing horror novels on the internet. He promised never to tell, but everyone knows you can never trust an Outlaw.

Then a year later, in the middle of the night, she receives a phone call at Tulane. Her aunt, who took her in after her mother’s death, is in a coma under suspicious circumstances. Now she has to face that one person who knows all about what she did that summer—sexy Booker.

Returning to Hope Parish to be with her aunt, stirs up all those ugly memories. When Aubree starts getting threats, she can’t help but wonder if what she did last summer was tied to her aunt’s “accident.” Afraid, she turns to the only person who knows the truth and Booker doesn’t hesitate to offer his broad shoulder for her to lean on. But Booker has a secret of his own that could crush their fledgling relationship.

As the hot, sultry summer days move on, she finds that even a perfectly smart girl can lose her heart to a perfectly bad boy. What is she going to do when someone starts asking questions Aubree doesn’t want to answer? She’s knee deep into a terribly dangerous, wholly life changing, who-can-she-really-depend-on perfect mess. Don't miss the new full length novels, Resisting Samantha and Handling Skylar!

Great romantic story! Secrets abound in the story of a “perfect” girl who is so traumatized by her early childhood she can’t believe anyone would want her if they knew how “imperfect” she truly was. Everything unfolds as she returns home to deal with her aunt’s accidental fall, and Aubree confronts her demons from her past. Who is taunting her about her deepest secret? Will she finally tell Booker how she feels about him? Will Booker believe he is worthy of her love? Good characters...good story!

Just starting to read books again, I selected this book not knowing anything about the authors writing style. I was riveted on her every word! The suspense, the drama and raw emotion was so aptly presented I couldn't tear myself away from reading as much as I could, as quickly as I could. It took my breath away! I look forward to reading and thoroughly enjoying more of her work! Sandra Walker Philadelphia, PA

I thought it was absolutely amazing, I didn't wanna put the book down! It's been a while since I could find a book that wasn't the extra dirty version of the twilight series and I appreciate that! I can't wait to see what the other books in the series have in store for me. Thank you for the beautiful words of love and loyalty!

The cover gets your hopes up about it being a really amazing book but when you start reading it it's a bit immature and disappointing…Not what I wanted at all.It can be book about teens without a 'bad guy' and horny teens. And also why is she worried more about boys, etc rather than her aunts health? Does she really not care?

The “I know what you did last summer” description of this book is intriguing, but A Perfect Mess ultimately doesn’t live up to its potential. After a decent start, the plot begins to drag - and never stops dragging. The entire thing (character personalities, plot, conflict) rests on something that is finally, FINALLY revealed (though not hard to see coming) far too late in the book to keep readers interested long enough to get there. Overly crass language and unrelatable teenagers (by the way, the drinking age is 21 now, Ms. Dawson) didn’t help, and the plot is shamelessly and clumsily put on hold a couple of times with the aim of transitioning into the next two books in this series. The main conflict is utterly unbelievable, and I actually wished the main characters would fail or die tragically by the end of the book, just to make things a little more interesting. I wish this book had been more carefully written and edited. The plot had great potential, but all in all, don’t waste your time.

Not bad, not great. The story was just too unrealistic. There were too many repiticious phrases and sometimes it really dragged on.

I expected more of the mystery. Also if you don't know the south, you probably won't understand a lot of the dialog and images the author tries to convey.
