Description

A man obsessed. A girl abducted. The darkest love story ever told...

Kidnapped. Taken to a private island.

I never thought this could happen to me. I never imagined one chance meeting on the eve of my eighteenth birthday could change my life so completely.

Now I belong to him. To Julian. To a man who is as ruthless as he is beautiful—a man whose touch makes me burn. A man whose tenderness I find more devastating than his cruelty.

My captor is an enigma. I don’t know who he is or why he took me. There is a darkness inside him—a darkness that scares me even as it draws me in.

My name is Nora Leston, and this is my story.

If you like your romance dark, addictive, and scandalously hot, you don't want to miss this NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING series!

Tackling problematic plots within a book is one thing, but romanticizing rape is another. And if we’re being completely honest, that’s all this book contains: romanticism of rape. There wasn’t any growth in either character, and there wasn’t even acknowledgement of the act being immoral. It was actually diminished by implying that because he treated her well outside of stalking, raping, and sexually abusing her (whips and slaps), she should be grateful she doesn’t have it worse. I was hoping for a redemption arc which never occurred — Julian realizing the pain he’s placed someone he supposedly loves through and going through the process of attempting to change and redeem himself and her realizing while yes, a part of her may enjoy the darker parts to sex, she still deserved to explore and experience for herself rather than having her choice taken and finding love for herself as well as Julian..

I guess it just depends on your age when you’re reading this book. And maybe read the whole thing before you make up your mind. I like that it wasn’t traditional love story. If Julian wasn’t his character and he was just a regular guy and a regular love story, then it would have just been an ok read to me. But I really liked it ! And the end explained a whole lot. Im not sure if I wanna read number 2, only because im happy with Norah and Julian love story I don’t want it to change lol

Not much character depth but there’s smut, non-con, BDSM.

A better title would be rape me. I do not find stories about raping innocent girls appealing. It was a waste of money buying this book, because I am not reading it.

At first I was skeptical and not feeling this plot. As the story progressed, I can understand how some relationships can be toxic but, addictive.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. When Nora sees Julian for the first time it's at a night clube and she feels frightened. While Nora is on a date with Jake the boy she really likes she is kidnapped, and when she wakes up she realises that it's Julian who has taken her. At the beginning she is scared and angry at him, but as time has goes by she can't be with out him. One night Nora gets sick so Julian has to fly her to the nearest hospital and after being there for a while the Dr. says it's ok to go home. The next day when Julian is away Nora and Beth who was with her at the island are taken by Julian's enemy and if he wants Nora back he has to give him what he wants. When Julian tries to get her back there's a huge explosion and Nora is the only surviver. When she's back home with her parents trying to move forward it doesn't feel the same and she misses Julian. While living in her own apartment, one night she is dreaming of Julian and how she misses him and when she opens her eyes she can't believe what she is seeing in front of her.

Dark twisted but once you start feeling the connection it turns hot as hell. This is a reread for me and I enjoyed it as much as the first time.
