Very nice, if a bit bland in comparison to the previous books

I don't want to give this book an unfair review, but I've read all the previous books in this series and I found this one to be a long slog. It's all right on its own merits, but it's mostly kid drama, and it's not even as interesting as the kid drama from the first book, where Anne dyes her hair green, gets her best friend drunk and breaks her tablet on the head of the boy she would end up marrying, by whacking him upside the head with it. I don't regret reading it, and I will continue with the series.
